It’s no surprise that the MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home united a variety of Spider-Man villains from several different continuities. If that wasn’t enough, there were several other villains referenced during the film’s climactic battle. While these villains only appeared in the form of ambiguous silhouettes, there’s one such villain referenced that Spider-Man: No Way Home fans have actually missed. Now it’s been unveiled in a new featurette just who he is.
As you can see below, there appears to be a silhouette of a villain with six arms. The character was pointed out in a newly released featurette for No Way Home. It can, of course, be a little hard to miss in between the various other characters that are teased amidst the cosmos.
As you can imagine, it might be difficult to determine who this character is. It’s actually none other than the bizarre villain known as Six-Armed Spider-Man, a variation of Spider-Man, that was featured in The Amazing Spider-Man 101. This particular comic book issue, which was released in 1971, also doubled as the first appearance for Morbius, the Living Vampire, another Spider-Man villain that will soon get their own solo movie.
Here’s the full featurette, and you can see the Six-Armed Spider-Man at the 13 second mark:
Interestingly, some fans have also suspected that this Spider-Man: No Way Home villain might actually be Superior Spider-Man. This version of Spider-Man is inflicted with Doc Ock’s mechanical arms, and as such, it does make a lot of sense to be this variant as well. Either way, both versions of the character have become fan-favorites over the years, so perhaps either one is just as valid. In any case, it’s great to see the many possibilities that Sony has to offer the Spider-Man franchise – and we’ll no doubt be seeing many of these villains again sooner or later.
Fans will be able to view Spider-Man: No Way Home digitally on March 22, 2022. The physical release which includes 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD copies of the film, will be released on April 12, 2022.
