The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been expanding in some really cool and different directions lately, especially with the addition of Disney Plus. The streaming platform has made possible many Marvel adaptations that fans never thought they would get to see in live-action. This will soon include Moon Knight, whose very own Disney Plus series will be available at the end of this month. While fans are eager to see what Marvel has cooked up for the underrated character, it looks like reviewers who got to see advanced copies are overjoyed by the show. In fact, some reviewers are calling Moon Knight the “best Marvel Studios project ever” in their reactions.
The character is quite unique when compared to other comic book characters, especially given his various personalities. As such, it makes sense that the Disney Plus series focused on the character would be quite unique as well. But to see so much positive support and enthusiasm for the show is definitely a surprise, especially with how some believe it’s the best thing Marvel has done thus far.
Here’s what some of the reviewers who’ve seen advanced copies of Moon Knight have to say:
#MoonKnight is fantastic & Oscar Isaac is exceptional as the tormented Marc Spector. This is the #Marvel show everyone is going to be talking about. Completely bonkers that leads with a haunting adventure. #MarvelStudios has knocked it out of the park with it's best show yet.

I’ve watched the first 4 #MoonKnight eps and I’m as divided by this show as Marc himself. When it works, it’s a wildly original MCU entry with flashes of greatness, but some of the sillier aspects detract from the horror. Diehard comic fans might not enjoy it as much as newcomers pic.twitter.com/ZWitn1rpn2

I've watched the first 4 episodes of #Marvel #MoonKnight & it's unlike anything we've seen in the #MCU – Oscar Issac is Fantastic! I can't wait to watch the rest of the series. This isn't your typical superhero origin. It's Excellent! It arrives on #Disneyplus on March 30th pic.twitter.com/BPUUmr4cPd

I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of #MoonKnight, it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before from the MCU. It’s a psychological thriller with a touch of Indiana Jones, it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. And Oscar Isaac delivers a mesmerizing performance. pic.twitter.com/OWYaWeye41

#MoonKnight is a brilliantly bonkers dark globe-trotting adventure; this is Marvel's trippy National Treasure. Oscar Isaac is the best addition to the MCU since RDJ, entwining torment and humour into a morally ambiguous cypher – Marc Spector is a whole new calibre of hero. pic.twitter.com/nlL9QgtbyA

At this rate, it definitely sounds like Moon Knight will be quite the surprise for comic book fans. While those who’ve kept up with the comics know the true potential of the character, it sounds as though Marvel has done their best to reciprocate that success for live-action. At a time when Disney Plus is allowing Marvel to take more chances and adapt more obscure or underrated characters, Moon Knight sounds as though it’s a step in the right direction for Marvel. Hopefully they keep up the great work and the series lives up to these expectations. Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more Moon Knight updates as we have them.
The Moon Knight series will be released on Disney Plus for all to see later this month, on March 30.
