Finn Wolfhard amazed audiences along with the rest of the cast for Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things. Many of the show’s cast members have continued to find other great roles for themselves, and this includes the aforementioned Finn Wolfhard. The actor recently appeared in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and now it appears that Finn Wolfhard has just joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well.
This news comes via GFR, and it’s been reported that all other details are still in the early stages. As such, there isn’t much information in the way of which character Finn Wolfhard could be playing or in what project we’ll get to see them. But with the actor reportedly attached for at least one appearance, it seems likely that we’ll see him on the screen sooner rather than later. Of course, until Marvel has confirmed this, the news should still be taken with a grain of salt.
Here’s what GFR said:
“Our inside source learned that Finn Wolfhard will be in an upcoming Marvel project. He’s signed on and ready to go. At this time, that’s as much as we were able to confirm. We aren’t sure which project he’s signed on for. What role will he be taking on? Will he have a major part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We aren’t sure, though so far his career has seen him taking on big parts for major franchises, so it would seem a strong bet that he could be taking on a recurring character in multiple projects.”
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe brand expanding both theatrically and on Disney Plus, there seems to be no limits to who Finn Wolfhard could play. It’s worth noting that with the Multiverse also coming into play, he could even be cast as a variant for a character we’ve already seen. As such, it’ll definitely be interesting to see what character he could show up as. Until then, however, fans will have to settle for Stranger Things Season 4, which will once again see Finn Wolfhard as his character Mike Wheeler.
The first half of the fourth season of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix May 27, 2022.
