One of the most highly-anticipated films on the way from Marvel is Deadpool 3, which will see Ryan Reynolds once again in the titular role. One of the reasons fans are so anxious to see the film is that it’ll be the first Deadpool film produced by Disney after their acquisition of Fox, and many fans are just curious to see how the character will function alongside the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. While we still don’t have answers to these questions, however, Ryan Reynolds has teased that there are updates for Deadpool 3 on the way.
This news comes via Collider, where Ryan Reynolds revealed the news while promoting his upcoming film The Adam Project. He teased that he’ll soon be able to speak “more clearly and definitively” about Deadpool 3 in the near future.
Here’s what Ryan Reynolds specifically had to say:
“We pretty much talk about everything, but I’ll say this about that particular subject is I’ll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So I’ll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.”
Obviously, there isn’t much to go off of with these details. But it does illustrate that Marvel and Ryan Reynolds are all still deeply involved with the project, and that means there must be progress. This is certainly still a good sign for fans, and as teased by Reynolds, we should have more news soon. And, as he states, possibly even “sooner rather than later.”
It’s unclear what exactly the release schedule for Deadpool 3 will be, but given these teased updates, it’s possible we could expect the film to hit as soon as 2024. As such, production might begin either later this year or sometime in 2023. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them!
