With the final trailer for Morbius having been released, hype for the upcoming Marvel film is at a new all-time high. With so much discussion going around about the film, some fans have been looking at actor Matt Smith and his mysterious role in the new film. While many fans thought that Matt Smith would be playing comic book character Loxias Crown aka Hunger, it seems that’s not the case. In fact, it’s just been revealed that Matt Smith is actually playing a character named Milo in Morbius.
Interestingly, Milo appears to be a combination of the aforementioned Loxias Crown and another comic book character, Emil Nikos. Furthermore, it appears that Milo has been afflicted with the same type of problem that Morbius has in the new Marvel movie. It’s unknown if he’ll become the main antagonist of the film or not, but it certainly sounds like Milo and Morbius as played by Matt Smith and Jared Leto will have plenty of conflict with one another.
As revealed in some production notes from Morbius via HeroicHollywood:
Matt Smith’s character is “the scion of a very, very, very rich family grown into a man determined to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life while he can – mostly by spending his money to live the high life in New York.”
In the new film…
“Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.”
Daniel Espinosa directed Morbius from a screenplay written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.
Aside from the aforementioned Jared Leto and Matt Smith, the confirmed cast for the film includes Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, Tyrese Gibson, and Michael Keaton.
The highly anticipated film Morbius will be hitting theaters on April 1, 2022.
