The newly released Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home brought together three different iterations of the beloved superhero. With Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire all reprising their roles in the new film – it’s been a great time to be a Spider-Man fan. Interestingly, however, actor Tom Holland just revealed one surprising fact about the film. As it turns out, one of the other two Spider-Man actors actually had their “ass” faked during the film’s production.
It’s always been known that Marvel has used a massive number of digital and practical effects in their films, but this is certainly a new one for fans to hear about. While Tom Holland didn’t specify which of his two Spider-Man co-stars had the fake ass, it’s still an interesting story to hear. He explained it while speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Here’s what Tom Holland specifically said:
“I’m going to give you a spoiler and I’m not going to tell you who but one of us has a fake ass in their suit.”
He further described how he felt when he noticed it:
“I remember being on set, and being like ‘Wow! Hang on a minute. No, that’s not real.'”
Because it has to be either Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire, that narrows down the possibilities immensely. And considering Tobey Maguire’s age versus Andrew Garfield’s, it seems more than likely that Tobey Maguire was the one with the fake ass. Nevertheless, Tobey Maguire is still an incredible actor and his presence really helped bring the film together. Fans are truly lucky to have him back.
Fans will be able to view Spider-Man: No Way Home from the comforts of their own home digitally on March 22, 2022. The physical release which includes 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD copies of the film, will be released on April 12, 2022.
