The promotional campaign for Stranger Things Season 4 is reaching new heights, and it includes a pretty massive revelation. As it turns out, Stranger Things Season 4 is actually the beginning of the end. While it won’t exactly be the last season of the hit Netflix series, it is paving the way for a fifth season that will be. Indeed, it appears that this initial Stranger Things series is soon going to be coming to a close.
This news was revealed alongside a variety of new details and images for Stranger Things Season 4, including a new series of posters. While fans are busy getting excited for the new season, it seems like the creators want fans to be ready for the end of the main Stranger Things show.
As revealed in a message via creators Matt and Ross Duffer on Twitter:
“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things,” they began. “At the time, we predicted the story would last four or five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.”
And there you have it. In the meantime, fans will still have the fourth season of the series to look forward to. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them.
The cast for the new season includes David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. We will also be seeing the return of Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Winona Ryder, and Cara Buono. New additions to the cast include Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko, and Tom Wlaschiha.
