Fans have been waiting quite some time for the ultimate live-action adaptation of Halo, and now the time is finally here. We’ll not only be getting the first season of Halo this year on Paramount Plus, but the streaming platform has just revealed that the series has been renewed for a second season. This is great news for fans that were hoping that the epic narrative would be given a chance to live throughout multiple seasons of storytelling.
It’s worth noting that while the first season had Steven Kane as its showrunner, he’ll be stepping down for the second. This time, the second season of Halo will be led by showrunner David Wiener. The show is produced by 343 Industries and Amblin Television.
Here’s what Showtime and Paramount Plus chief David Nevins added in a statement via Empire:
“Halo takes us into a dazzling world that we believe will enthrall audiences as much with its electrifying visuals as its bold, character-driven storytelling,” he begins. “This second-season pickup reflects the confidence we have in the power of this epic series to attract and engage viewers.”
We’ll likely to continue to have news on the second season after the first premieres. In which case, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more information as we have it. As for the first season’s setup which is based on the video game series of the same name…
“Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”
The cast for this series includes actor Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief aka John-117, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, Jen Taylor as Cortana, and Bokeem Woodbine as Soren 066.
The first season of the live-action Halo series will premiere exclusively on the Paramount Plus streaming platform on March 24, 2022.
