While fans wait for the release of the theatrical DCEU movie The Flash later this year, audiences still have The CW’s The Flash series to look forward to. The series will be bringing its eighth season back beginning in March, and fans will be delighted to know a very familiar villain will be returning along with it. Specifically, the iconic villain Reverse-Flash as played by actor Tom Cavanagh will be coming back for another reign of mayhem on the series.
While the character has popped up on occasion since their arrival in the show’s first season, this should be an exciting comeback nonetheless. It’s not exactly clear how the character will be brought back this time around, but it’s presumed that timeline shenanigans will play a hefty part. As such, that tends to be the fun of this beloved comic book series, so we’ll be finding out sooner rather than later. After the first portion of the show’s eighth season that premiered last year, The Flash is certainly building up to some interesting storylines and characters.
As teased by Jesse L. Martin in an interview with The Talk:
“Everybody who is a fan of Tom Cavanagh and his Reverse-Flash… get ready,” said Martin.
While Jesse L. Martin didn’t reveal too much about the return of Reverse-Flash, that is the best kind of tease for these types of arrivals. At least fans know what to expect, and it should certainly make the return of this show’s eighth season that much more enjoyable. Between that, the renewal for a ninth season, and the upcoming feature film, it’s a great time to be a fan of the character. Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more Flash updates as we have them.
Fans will be able to see Tom Cavanagh back as Reverse-Flash when The Flash returns to The CW on March 9, 2022.
