After years of issues and delays, the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is finally deep into its production. The highly anticipated film will supposedly be the last to feature the iconic superhero team as we know it, which has made fans all the more anxious for additional info. While we still don’t have much else to go on, James Gunn has finally unveiled his first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 – although it isn’t exactly what you’d expect.
In fact, it looks like James Gunn is taking an opportunity to somewhat troll fans that are overly anxious for the film. As you can see below, via Twitter, James Gunn chose not to show an actual shot from the film – but a very rough piece of what looks like a storyboard.
He wrote the following caption:
“Shooting this shot now.”

One can only assume that this face belongs to Mantis, but beyond that is anyone’s guess. It seems like the character is screaming for this shot, but the drawing is so vague that she could just as easily be surprised by something. Indeed, James Gunn really did succeed in trolling fans with this Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 image. But with the film still deep in production, it’s likely that we’ll receive some legitimate images from the film sooner than later.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is being both written and directed by James Gunn, who handled the previous two films in the trilogy. There aren’t many details given about the film’s plot at the moment.
The cast for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will also include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and the voice talents of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. Will Poulter is joining the cast as Adam Warlock.
The upcoming MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is scheduled for a May 23, 2023 release date.
