With the Marvel Cinematic Universe constantly expanding, so is the list of actors and actresses associated with the brand. While the beginning of the MCU only had a select number of recurring stars, it seems the franchise has gotten to the point where nearly everyone is getting their own superhero role. Now it seems like Anne Hathaway could be next for a chance to join the Marvel brand.
As noted via GFR, Anne Hathaway is reportedly in talks for a major role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is exciting news, as fans will previously remember Hathaway once played Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been confirmed what character she could be in the running for when it comes to the MCU.
Here’s what they said:
“While details around which (or what) character Anne Hathaway would be playing are a bit fewer and further between, it appears the two sides are getting close on whoever it is.”
They then speculated that no matter the part, it seems reasonable that it would be something worth multiple appearances. As such, it seems like Anne Hathaway would be a good fit for a major superhero that’ll either have their own solo-projects or a large part in someone else’s. Of course, all of that should be taken with a grain of salt.
But with Marvel still in the midst of Phase Four for their growing Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Phase Five to eventually get underway next, it definitely makes sense that some big names are going to be thrown around. Hopefully we’ll know more about Anne Hathaway’s attachment to the franchise and what these reported talks will lead to. In the meantime, there are still plenty of projects in the present to look forward to. It’s definitely a great time to be a Marvel fan, so stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them.
