‘The Cursed’ Trailer Introduces A New Gothic Horror Film

    By Jacob DresslerJanuary 26, 2022

Next month will see the release of The Cursed, a film which promises to be an exciting new gothic thriller. In fact, as you can see in the trailer for The Cursed down below, it appears that the film is being called “one of the best horror films of the year.” And considering the gorgeous gothic imagery and various monsters teased for the film, it certainly looks that way.

In fact, it appears that the film will be a “reimagining of the werewolf legend for a modern-day audience.” There’s definitely a shortage in theatrical films about werewolves these days, so it’s great to see something with this kind of scale. It also appears that the film includes some kind of disturbing scarecrow creature, so it certainly looks like it will be rather unique in whatever horror story it’s portraying.

Here’s the trailer for The Cursed:

THE CURSED | Official Trailer | In Theaters February 18

With only a month before the film is released, this trailer is quite a pleasant surprise. It actually first premiered in front of the new Scream sequel when that film hit theaters earlier this month, so it’s nice to finally see the footage online. What’s more, the highly anticipated horror film previously made its premiere under a previous title at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.

As for the plot of The Cursed…

“In the late 1800s, a man arrives in a remote country village to investigate an attack by a wild animal but discovers a much deeper and sinister force that has the manor and its townspeople in its grip.”

Sean Ellis both wrote and directed The Cursed, which was originally titled Eight for Silver. Sean Ellis also produced the film alongside Pete Shilaimon and Mickey Liddell.

The cast for the film stars Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly, and Alistair Petrie.

Audiences will be able to see The Cursed when it hits theaters on February 18, 2022.
