With the release of Halloween Kills late last year, it’s already time to start getting excited for Halloween Ends. The next installment in the long-running Halloween franchise is in the early stages of production, with plans for a release this October. Now we know that actor Michael O’Leary has just signed on to play a character named Doctor Mathis for Halloween Ends. What makes this announcement so exciting is that the name was actually first shared in Halloween Kills, which should be a nice piece of continuity for eagle-eyed fans.
Michael O’Leary revealed this information on Twitter – but it appears that he’s since deleted the post. However, it appears that Michael O’Leary also shared he’ll have his “official first day” on Halloween Ends towards the end of this month, on January 27.
As stated:
“‘HALLOWEEN ENDS’! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing the role of ‘Doctor Mathis’ in John Carpenters iconic thriller staring Jaime Lee Curtis!”
While there isn’t much information given about this Doctor Mathis character, he was first mentioned in Halloween Kills as mentioned above. And seeing how The Shape aka Michael Myers acted out his brutal acts in said film, we can only imagine that Doctor Mathis will somehow be placed in the midst of Michael’s carnage for this next outing. Whether or not he ends up a victim remains to be seen, but it definitely isn’t easy surviving Michael Myers.
With production on the film prepping to begin soon, we should be expecting much more news on Halloween Ends. The film is set to be the end of David Gordon Green’s new trilogy, at least for now, so it’ll definitely be interesting to see what’s in store.
David Gordon Green will once again return to direct Halloween Ends, the sequel to its predecessors Halloween and Halloween Kills.
Fans will be able to see Halloween Ends next year on October 14, 2022.
