Alongside the likes of Indiana Jones, it could be argued that Han Solo is one of Harrison Ford’s most iconic roles. Obviously, there are a lot of Star Wars fans that would love to see more of Harrison Ford as Han Solo. And while Han Solo was eventually killed off in The Force Awakens, it seems there’s still potential for the character to return. At least, that’s according to a new rumor, which suggests Harrison Ford will return for a certain Disney Plus series.
As of this writing, The Book of Boba Fett is still in its very early episodes on Disney Plus. But as stated in a rumor via The Sun, Harrison Ford actually managed to shoot new footage for the finale of Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett. Apparently the actor would be de-aged similar to Mark Hamill who played a young Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian. At that rate, it doesn’t exactly seem unlikely. But of course, this information should still be taken with a grain of salt. Especially considering how early into The Book of Boba Fett we are.
In any case, the technology is certainly there. And it would make sense – considering the history between Boba Fett and Han Solo. It’s a reunion that fans have been waiting to see almost as long as Boba’s escape from the Sarlacc. It would also be an appearance on par with that of Mark Hamill’s return as young Luke Skywalker. Furthermore, it would just be a really neat way to tie this series further in with the original trilogy.
When you consider that prequel trilogy actor Temuera Morrison is the one playing Boba Fett this time around as well, it makes that connection even sweeter. We’re at a time when Disney is really trying to bring the franchise together, so it’ll be interesting to see how they proceed.
Of course, fans will just have to continue watching The Book of Boba Fett to know for sure. In the meantime, Harrison Ford is returning as Indiana Jones for a brand new film. So he’s certainly still open to reprising such roles, and even using de-aging technology that’s been confirmed to play a role in Indiana Jones 5. Interesting, indeed.
