Another year has passed, and that means it’s time to look back at the great films that were released. While 2021 had some pretty spectacular releases on all fronts, it’s also worth a look just to see what horror films were distributed. After all, horror is often times one of the most profitable and fan-favorite genres. As such, here are the top ten best horror movies of 2021.
The top ten horror films were selected via Rotten Tomatoes, where they listed the best horror movies of 2021 based on their Rotten Tomatoes scores. With that in mind, it’s interesting to see just how varied and distinct many of the films on the list are. While many tend to be the dark or gritty genre flicks that fans are often familiar with – there are also quite a few more humorous horror films listed as well. It goes to show just how much range the horror genre has to offer.
What’s more, one of the films listed in the top three spot is The Amusement Park, a PSA directed by George A. Romero as far back as the 1970’s. The film was recently discovered and remastered for its first public release – so it’s nice to not just see something new from Romero after his death, but also something that was ranked so highly.
