Actress Betty White forged a massive career for herself across decades, both in television and on the big screen. While she was set to turn 100 years old in just a few weeks, it’s now been revealed that Betty White has died at age 99. According to the report, it appears that Betty White was found dead in her home on December 31, 2021.
This news comes via TMZ, where they noted she spent plenty of time at home during the pandemic. Apparently she was often “passing the time by reading, watching TV and doing crossword puzzles.” With that said, she certainly had quite the career in the decades prior.
Betty White initially began her acting career as far back as 1939. As such, she’s left her mark on a wide variety of television shows and films along the way. This included The Golden Girls, which is one of her most famous roles. However, she still made appearances in many other projects, some of which were rather unexpected, like her fan-favorite role in the 1999 film Lake Placid. It shows that Betty White always had a wonderful sense of humor, and it truly is sad that she’s gone. But at least she left a wonderful career behind for fans to enjoy.
Her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas gave the following statement via People after Betty White was confirmed dead:
“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” Witjas stated. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”
Many of her other credits included Life with Elizabeth, Date with the Angels, The Love Boat, That ’70s Show, and Hot in Cleveland to name a few others. Betty White will definitely be missed.
