The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been branching into new universes, thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now we’ll see this further explored with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In fact, according to a potential leak, it looks like the film will actually explore the universe from the previously unrelated X-Men film franchise. It’s been suspected that this would happen sooner or later, especially because of Disney’s acquisition of Fox who previously held the X-Men rights. Of course, the information regarding the possible leaked Doctor Strange 2 ending introducing the X-Men should still be taken with a grain of salt. And, as always, beware of potential spoilers below.
This information comes via Twitter user @MyTimeToShineH who claimed to know the ending of the film. While they weren’t able to delve too much into specifics, they did reveal the alleged outcome.
Specifically, that “Wanda ends up winning”.

Someone asked if this could mean Wanda pulls a reverse of her “No more Mutants” line from the comics. While the powerful superhero banished them in the comics by uttering such words, fans have suspected she might do the opposite to bring the mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. @MyTimeToShineH agrees that this seems likely.
She does something at the end. I'm not sure what it is but probably that https://t.co/mqPBveSbCR

As noted above, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. But considering Marvel does intend to introduce the X-Men characters they’ve acquired into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems like “Multiverse of Madness” is a great place to start. It’s also been stated in the past that Wanda would be something of a villain in the film, so it makes sense that she could be the one responsible for the mutants’ arrival in the MCU as well. So hopefully we’ll have more details soon, though we might not know till the release of Doctor Strange 2 if these X-Men rumors about the ending are true.
Audiences will be able to see the highly anticipated sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when it hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
