The Hawkeye series on Disney Plus has come and gone, and what a wild ride it was. While fans got a deeper look into the softer side of Clint Barton, and an introduction to Kate Bishop, they also saw a familiar face make their highly-anticipated return. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin is back for the first time since being seen in Daredevil on Netflix – the series that was cancelled back in 2018.
Kingpin turned out to play a major part in the series’ overall plot, and wound up going toe-to-toe with Kate Bishop in the Season One finale. However, it was Maya Lopez who seemingly ended Fisk up close and personal with a gunshot off-camera. It remains to be seen if Fisk actually survived the encounter or not, but if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Kingpin is hard to kill.
Although Fisk’s return to the screen was everything fans hoped for, it turns out Marvel cut out one epic scene involving the big guy and Clint Barton. According to a report from Cosmic Circus, there was originally supposed to be a post-credits scene in which Barton warned Fisk to stay away from his family. Barton would’ve attached the Ronin sword along with the message to help get the point across.
It will certainly be interesting to see where the story goes from here, and what Fisk’s involvement in everything will be. Fisk isn’t the only Daredevil star that was recently reintroduced into the MCU. Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Matt Murdock returned in Spider-Man: No Way Home earlier this month. He played the part of Peter Parker’s lawyer after the world found out about his secret identity.
And to make things even more interesting, D’Onofrio himself recently confirmed in an interview that the same version of his character that appears in Hawkeye is the same as from Daredevil.
The full first season of Hawkeye is currently available to stream on Disney Plus.
