It’s that time of year again. A brand new trailer for the MCU’s latest project has just dropped, and this time it’s for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness AKA Doctor Strange 2. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his iconic role of Dr. Stephen Strange, and will also feature Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch. Benedict Wong will also return as fan-favorite Wong, who we just learned was made Sorcerer Supreme during Strange’s absence after the blip.
Doctor Strange 2 looks to deal with the ramifications of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Strange’s botched spell in an attempt to help the world forget about Peter Parker’s identity went terribly wrong. Although Strange managed to help get things under control at the end of the film, it looks like there’s still some major consequences he’ll have to deal with. For those of you who watched No Way Home in theaters, you’ve already seen the preview for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness as a post-credit scene.
However, now Marvel has released the preview for the public to enjoy. Check it out below:

As we can see, Karl Mordo will play a big part in the story, likely as a leading antagonist, following he and Strange’s fallout from the first film. The film will also introduce multiversal traveler America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez. And lastly, Strange will have to go up against one of his most challenging foes yet in the battle of the multiverse – himself.
It appears the dark Doctor Strange Supreme will be another key antagonist in the film. This character was already explored in What If..? during the episode in which Strange became hellbent on saving Christine Palmer from death, before realizing her passing is actually an absolute point in the timeline. The quest for power drove Strange into madness, ultimately leading to his universe’s demise.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
