Since its earliest days in production, there have been no shortage of rumors and leaks surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was revealed very early on that villains like Doc Ock would be returning in the new MCU movie, and it was further confirmed in the film’s trailers that villains from The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel would also be returning. But while we knew the villains were coming back, it still remained unconfirmed up until the film’s release if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would be returning for No Way Home as well.
Now with the film in theaters, it indeed is the case. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are back in the film as their respective versions of Peter Parker, and they work alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker to stop the villains. It’s a team-up that fans never really thought would be possible, but thanks to Doctor Strange’s magic, these beloved superheroes have all made a comeback on the big screen.
With so many villains and versions of Spider-Man on the big screen, it’s easily the perfect Spider-Man film for fans. Especially those who’ve been eager to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield take on their roles again for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Of course, they were also sent back to their own universes by the end of the movie. So for the time being, it looks like we’re stuck with just Tom Holland’s Peter Parker again. But with the way the film ended, it should certainly pave the way for some exciting new adventures with our beloved Spider-Man.
In the meantime, however, it does look like there will still be some Multiverse shenanigans afoot. In particular, the mid-credits scene for Spider-Man: No Way Home revealed that Eddie Brock was still in the MCU after the events of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. And not only this, but he was soon sent back to his own world. There was one final twist, however, in which a piece of his symbiote was left behind. So it seems likely that Spider-Man will get caught up with Venom sooner or later.
As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates on all things Spider-Man as we have them. In the meantime, fans can finally enjoy this new Marvel Cinematic Universe entry, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
