As Spider-Man: No Way Home starts its record breaking opening weekend at the box office (and make sure you stay all the way through the credits… trust me…), the next film for the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to deal with the multiverse in an even more chaotic fashion. Doctor Strange 2 AKA Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Doctor Strange have to deal with even more of the insanity that is coming, partially by his own hand. And now, thanks to a new toy release upcoming, we may get to see a new comic book look for Strange in the MCU.
The Marvel’s Legends has released a look at their new figures for the Sorcerer’s sequel film. We see Strange, Wong, America Chavez, Baron Mordo, Strange’s Astral Form, as we ll as D’Spayre and Sleepwalker (it is unclear if these characters will be in the film, but their figures are comic accurate), as well as the Build-A-Figure of Rintrah, a green minotaur sorcerer whose figure looks to be an interpretation of a live action version, so we may be getting him in the movie.
One figure, however, has fans really excited is the Target exclusive version of Strange. Because this version is depicted in his red and black Defenders outfit.

This outfit may just be for the toy line and will not appear in the film, but if it does, it has major implications. With (spoiler alert) Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio entering the MCU as Daredevil and Kingpin respectfully, we could get an MCU version of the Defenders. Now, this would depend on whether or not Marvel makes the Netflix series canon. If they don’t, and these characters will be different versions of the characters, we could see Strange join forces with Daredevil and possibly heroes like Kate Bishop and America Chavez for the MCU version of the Defenders.
We won’t know much until we get closer to the film’s release, and even then we may not know until its actual release day, when it comes to this outfit being in the movie or just part of the toy line. Regardless, it is an awesome look for Doctor Strange and should be on the shelves of collectors everywhere.
