Actor Nicolas Cage always has an exciting project just around the corner, and this one is especially exciting because he’s playing none other than a stylized version of himself. The upcoming film is titled The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and true to its name, actor Nicolas Cage is the focus. This is evident in the film’s first new teaser trailer, which was just released by Lionsgate.
As you can see below, the trailer is rather trippy and suggests just how bizarre The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is going to be. The actor has redefined his career over the last decade, taking on seemingly any crazy role he could get his hands on. But at this point, we’re going to see Nicolas Cage play Nicolas Cage – and it just can’t get any crazier than that.
Here’s the new trailer:
Nicolas Cage, at 58 years old, has really shown his abilities as an actor. He’s gone to the completely outlandish world of roles like Red Miller in Mandy, to more subdued roles in films like Pig. As such, it’s fitting to see a film like this upcoming project that will act as not just another crazy project, but also a true tribute to his filmography. With that in mind, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates on The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and other Nicolas Cage projects as we have them. It’s definitely a good time to be a Nicolas Cage fan – and this new teaser trailer is proof of that.
Tom Gormican directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Kevin Etten.
Aside from Nicolas Cage, the film also stars Pedro Pascal, Sharon Horgan, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, Jacob Scipio, Lily Sheen, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is scheduled for a theatrical release date on April 22, 2022.
