We’re deep into the marketing of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which means fans are seeing more from the film than ever before. This includes the opening scene for No Way Home, which was recently released for fans online. Unfortunately, fans are always the best at picking out details – and they noticed the Spider-Man: No Way Home opening actually contained a continuity error.
As pointed out via The Direct, the opening of No Way Home reveals that MJ is wearing the Black Dahlia necklace that she was given in the previous film. While this seems like a great nod at first, they were quick to emphasize that she is not wearing the necklace during the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Luckily, because the continuity error in the No Way Home opening was already noticed, there’s still a chance to fix it. With digital editing and digital distribution, it’s now possible to patch films much in the same way that games are consistently patched. And considering the film hasn’t even hit theaters yet, it wouldn’t even be that much of an ordeal to have the film changed. Of course, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens on that front.
On the more positive side of things, however, fans did notice a positive nod to continuity in the opening. As it turns out, they actually include the Rogers: The Musical billboard that was also used in the Disney Plus series Hawkeye. It definitely goes to show that despite the occasional mistake, Disney still attempts their best to keep everything tied together.
The upcoming MCU film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
