Audiences are still anxious to know if past Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While it’s still unconfirmed if they’ll be joining the cast led by Tom Holland, the current Spider-Man actor did reveal one interesting tidbit. As it turns out, Tom Holland actually has a group chat with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
This information was revealed by Tom Holland while speaking with BBC Radio 1, and he discussed how the trio have become friends.
Holland said:
“We actually do have a WhatsApp group. I don’t know how it got set up, but we bumped into Tobey [Maguire] at a Japanese restaurant a while ago, and I took his number,” Holland revealed. “And then, I think I set it up, I was like, ‘Guys listen we can’t all share each other’s numbers and not have a group chat.’ I think I’m the only one that’s ever spoken in it. What’s up other Spider-Mans?!”
While it’s unlikely to suggest any additional possibilities that Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s definitely fun knowing the three actors are in a group chat together. It’s equally just as fun to know that Tom Holland is likely the only person sending messages in said group chat. Hopefully he’s been sharing some pretty great Spider-Man memes to his fellow Spidey actors. After all, what else are group chats for? Perhaps we’ll hear more about the three’s friendship in the future, regardless of if the other two actors show up in No Way Home or not.
The upcoming MCU film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
