Netflix has become quite well-known for producing and distributing a wide range of content. This includes both shows and films, and one of their more popular films in recent years has been Extraction. The film starred Chris Hemsworth and although it strongly suggested that his character died in the film, it appears that’s not actually the case. In fact, Chris Hemsworth will be returning as his character Tyler Rake for a new sequel titled Extraction 2. What’s more, Netflix has just released the first image from Extraction 2 now that cameras have started rolling.
Interestingly, the image from the film reveals that the setting will be quite different this time around. It’s clear that Tyler Rake is prepared to go into battle in any environment, and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the snow. Hopefully we’ll get to see more from the film in the near future, especially now that the Netflix project is currently shooting.
Here’s what was stated by Netflix while sharing the image from Extraction 2:
“Tyler Rake is back! Chris Hemsworth returns in Extraction 2 as Rake is sent on another deadly rescue mission.”

While not much else is currently known about the film, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates on the project as we have them. It’s been suspected that the films could launch their own major franchise on Netflix, so it’ll be interesting to see where things go from here.
The upcoming sequel Extraction 2 is being directed by Sam Hargrave from a screenplay by Joe Russo. The story was written by Joe Russo alongside his brother Anthony Russo.
The cast for the film will once again be led by the aforementioned Chris Hemsworth. He’ll be playing Tyler Rake, a black ops mercenary who formerly worked as a SASR operator.
Although the release date for Extraction 2 is currently unknown, it will have its premiere on Netflix.
