The Venom film franchise has been quite a success for Sony. It’s been a little bit of a surprise, seeing the first Venom film not just come to fruition – but be a hit with fans. Many were skeptical of a PG-13 Venom film, especially one without Spider-Man. Yet, despite the odds, the movie proved to be very successful. The same success was then found with its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which started to bring in the Spider-Man elements many fans were asking for. Now, the question is, what about Venom 3? As it turns out, producer Amy Pascal has confirmed Venom 3 is indeed in the works.
Amy Pascal confirmed as much, albeit without many details, while speaking with Collider. She explained that the film is still in its early stages of development, with everyone’s focus on the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Here’s what Amy Pascal specifically said regarding development on Venom 3:
“We are in the planning stages right now but what we are focused on is getting everybody to come and see No Way Home.”
This is definitely exciting news for fans of the Venom franchise. While everyone could have probably guessed that Venom would be coming back, especially after the success of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and its mid-credits scene, it’s still nice to have confirmation. But Amy Pascal is correct, everyone is currently focused on Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hopefully after that film’s release, however, we’ll have more word from Amy Pascal and others on Venom 3.
If the tease from the ending of Venom: Let There Be Carnage is any indication, then it’ll definitely be a massive step forward for the franchise. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates on the project as we have them. It’s definitely a great time to be a fan of the iconic comic book character.
