The Disney Plus series Hawkeye has so far been a success with fans. The new show finally gives Jeremy Renner a chance to fully shine as Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, while also introducing a variety of important MCU characters. Aside from this, the series has also just now picked up plotlines that were hinted at the end of Black Widow. In particular, the character Yelena Belova played by Florence Pugh finally made an appearance. While that appearance was both shocking and exciting for fans, it appears to have had repercussions for the star. In particular, Florence Pugh has now been blocked on Instagram for sharing what’s been called Hawkeye spoilers.
As fans know, it was a surprise to see Florence Pugh return as Yelena Belova for the end of Hawkeye’s fourth episode. As a result, Florence Pugh shared a few images of the scene on Instagram. Now, after apparently being reported enough times, she was banned from making further posts. With the ability to still post on her stories, however, she added the following message via The Direct:
“I never though me posting love about a show in which I appear on would get taken down…but here we are. Someone on here complained so I’ve been blocked from posting my own appearance on a show that I’m very much in.
Beyond ridiculous.
Being in Hawkeye is a privilege and thank you to all who welcomed me on set and off and all who are watching.”
It’s certainly a surprise to see how social media can ban a user over seemingly nothing, and it’s even stranger to see a Hollywood celebrity get banned for sharing their own work. In any case, it’s nice to know that Florence Pugh is excited to be back in the MCU yet again.
The cast for Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner as the titular superhero and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez also star.
Fans can expect new episodes of Hawkeye to be added weekly every Wednesday.
