With the next installment of the long-running Halloween franchise scheduled to begin production soon, fans are anxious to see what’s in store. After all, Halloween Kills left the narrative wide open – with several plot threads and characters prepared for the next film. While many believed one of the characters set to return in Halloween Ends would be none other than Kyle Richards, who came back to play Lindsey Wallace in Halloween Kills for the first time since 1978, it’s only now been confirmed.
This news comes via Variety, where it was revealed that Kyle Richards will once again play Lindsey Wallace in Halloween Ends. Apparently the script for the film had to be rewritten, however, to make room for the beloved character.
As they noted:
“Sources say that after Richards garnered positive reception from fans in Halloween Kills, the filmmakers re-wrote the script to include her character in Halloween Ends, crafting an expanded storyline for her return.”
Kyle Richards further emphasized how excited she is to come back. She also hoped to have some screen time with Jamie Lee Curtis, her co-star from the 1978 film that unfortunately didn’t share the screen with Richards in Halloween Kills.
“The last movie, I saw Jamie on the set, but we didn’t have stuff together. So I’m really hoping that there is more stuff together,” Richards says. “I can’t talk about any storylines, but all I can say is that we start filming in January, and I’m so excited to return with Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green.”
It’s great knowing that one of the characters from both the original Halloween and Halloween Kills will be returning for this final film installment. With Kyle Richards returning as Lindsey, a character didn’t get to reprise in other continuities of the franchise, it gives these newer films a little more authenticity. Hopefully we’ll have more news on the upcoming film soon as production begins.
David Gordon Green will once again return to direct Halloween Ends, the sequel to its predecessors Halloween and Halloween Kills.
Fans will be able to see Halloween Ends next year on October 14, 2022.
