It’s already been two years since Spider-Man: Far From Home was released in theaters. The film ended on a massive cliffhanger, one which obviously paved the way for the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. As such, fans have been anxious to know how the new film will pick up from that. Now actor Tom Holland has incidentally spoiled the opening of No Way Home, explaining that it starts exactly where Far From Home left off.
Tom Holland revealed the opening of Spider-Man: No Way Home while speaking on The Graham Norton Show, via The Direct. Apparently the opening actually begins with “the same freeze-frame” that Far From Home ended with.
Here’s what he had to say overall:
“What’s cool about this film is it picks up right after the second one finishes. So the second one finishes with a freeze-frame of Spider-Man, the third one starts with the same freeze-frame.”
This is exciting for fans who were hoping that Spider-Man: No Way Home would properly follow the events of its predecessor. It also means that it will be quite the marathon when watching these films together, considering they’ll flow as one big story. But considering how the Marvel Cinematic Universe tends to operate, that part isn’t too much of a surprise.
With the film closer than ever to its release date, we’ll probably continue to get some exciting updates and revelations. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further updates on Spider-Man: No Way Home and any related projects as we have them.
The upcoming MCU film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
