‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ TV Spot Changes Already Released Footage

With fans eager to know everything they can about Spider-Man: No Way Home, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’ve been analyzing every trailer and bit of footage. Of course, that means fans have started to notice certain inconsistencies between the two. This isn’t anything new, as sometimes Marvel tends to use alternate takes and edits to hide surprises that will be in the final film. But now some fans have noticed that a certain quote from Doctor Strange has changed in the latest TV spot for the film.

Fans will remember the line in question from the original Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, in which Doctor Strange says, “Ever since you botched that spell where everyone forgets that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, we started getting visitors.”

However, as noted in the below TV spot, the line changes to this at about the 0:015 mark:

“When I shut that spell down… we started getting visitors.”

It’s definitely an interesting change to Doctor Strange’s line of dialogue. After all, the initial line seems to indicate that Peter Parker is to blame for the film’s events. However, in the new TV spot, Doctor Strange takes the blame himself. Either line can and does totally change the main theme of what’s going on. As such, it seems likely that both lines could take part in the film. Peter Parker for initiating the spellcasting, and then Doctor Strange for making it worse. Of course, we might just have to wait until the release date to know for sure.

The upcoming MCU film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
