While it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Tobey Maguire will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s yet to be officially confirmed. That hasn’t stopped many of the actors in the film from teasing (or downright spoiling) the actor’s return – along with Andrew Garfield. The latest tease from current Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is definitely going to add fuel to the speculation fire.
As anyone who has seen 2002’s Spider-Man knows, Peter Parker becomes a wrestler in an effort to win some cash. He creates his own temporary Spider-Man suit – and the rest is history. Well, as most things seem to do in today’s culture, part of that scene has become a meme – and Tom Holland is on board with it.
As you can see from Holland’s Instagram story:

The meme came from Twitter user @sp_ceii, as you can also see below:

For what it’s worth, Tom Holland has said time and time again that Tobey Maguire is not in the movie. Just last month the actor said:
“People don’t believe me when I say that [Maguire and Garfield] are not coming back. But people are going to have to believe me at some point. It means a lot to me. The first time you see Doc and the rest of the characters that come back, it’s so exciting – and it’s such a huge moment in cinematic history. It’s three generations coming together.”
While the actor is most likely just trying to make people think that the other Spidey actors are not in the film, it’s getting near impossible to believe at this point – with all the leaks and teasers from people associated with the movie.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17th.
