With Hawkeye now streaming on Disney Plus, fans are excited for what surprises could come next in the extremely popular MCU series. After all, it’s expected that the show will play a large part in moving the franchise forward and introducing some of the biggest characters yet to come. One such rumor is that the series might even include Kingpin, a villain last seen in the Netflix series Daredevil, and there were even a few leaked images to back this rumor up. Now actor Vincent D’Onofrio has reacted to the alleged photo leak of Kingpin.
While some fans would love to see Kingpin make a comeback, and there’s probably no better place than Hawkeye for that, it’s just too unclear if he really will return. And Vincent D’Onofrio’s response to the photo leak doesn’t make things any clearer. In fact, he outright denied that the images were legit – further adding a bit of humor to the mix.
Here’s what he wrote via Twitter:
“Well it’s a really bad job from someone trying to make it look like me. This guy in the pic is more handsome I think.”

Indeed, while we most likely can expect some surprises to arrive in Hawkeye throughout the show’s run – we probably shouldn’t bet on Kingpin being one of them. Of course, the take Vincent D’Onofrio had on Kingpin has also been considered one of the best villain performances in the entire Marvel brand. So it would be a little silly to think that Marvel wouldn’t consider bringing him back for the role. If he isn’t returning in Hawkeye, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see if he shows up elsewhere down the line. Of course, we’ll just have to keep waiting and see what happens.
The cast for Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner as the titular superhero and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez also star.
As of this writing, the first two episodes of Hawkeye are currently streaming on Disney Plus. Fans can expect new episodes to be added weekly every Wednesday.
