It’s an exciting time to be a Spider-Man fan, especially with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home scheduled for next month. The new film is suggested to be one of the biggest MCU movies yet, with a narrative that will bring together several different Spider-Man continuities. While it’s still unclear if actors Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield will be joining the cast, it seems another report has been made that another big character will. This reveal, however, is reportedly being saved for the Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene. As such, there may be potential spoilers going forward.
Fans already know that the post-credits scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage seemed to throw Eddie and Venom into the MCU. While this was a shocking revelation, it looks like it could be undone for Spider-Man: No Way Home, albeit with a twist. It’s been reported by insider Daniel Richtman that the Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene will only show Eddie and Venom for a short moment before sending them back to their own universe. The big reveal here, however, is that Venom leaves a part of himself behind – suggesting that there could be symbiote hijinks being laid out for the future.
It’s particularly unclear what exactly this could mean for the franchise, or if this information is even accurate at all. But we do know that the Venom films certainly are being tied to the MCU at some point, so perhaps we should expect some connections in the upcoming film. In any case, fans might just have to wait until we get closer to the film’s release date in December to know for sure.
The upcoming MCU film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
