With the new series Hawkeye having finally premiered on Disney Plus, fans are talking about every aspect of the highly popular show. Of course, some of these aspects aren’t always positives. In fact, some fans in particular actually noticed a continuity mistake with the first Avengers film while watching the new Marvel series.
As it turns out, this continuity mistake with The Avengers can be seen in the very first episode of Hawkeye. As fans have noticed, it occurs when we get our flashback with young Kate Bishop in 2012. The character is watching the Battle of New York unfold, and gains inspiration when she sees Clint Barton, the titular Hawkeye, go up against the Chitauri menace.
It’s a great scene, and further expands the impact that the Battle of New York had on some of the MCU’s greatest characters. However, it also created a bit of a continuity mistake if you pay attention to Stark Tower. In the film, the letter “K” falls from the tower’s logo. But in the series, the “K” is still intact, with the letter “R” having fallen. As you can see below:
A small continuity error I found. In the Avengers (2012), it was letter ‘K’ that was dropped from Stark tower.

Ultimately, it isn’t that massive of a continuity error. But it is an interesting find nevertheless. It goes to show that even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe is intricately planned out and designed, there are always going to be small inconsistencies. Of course, some fans have also joked that this is simply proof that Hawkeye is yet another alternate universe – so there’s always that humorous explanation too.
The cast for Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner as the titular superhero and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez also star.
As of this writing, the first two episodes of Hawkeye are currently streaming on Disney Plus. Fans can expect new episodes to be added weekly every Wednesday.
