Although the hit Netflix series Daredevil was cancelled and seemingly wiped from the chronology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, its impact will apparently live on. While it’s been rumored that the titular Daredevil himself, Matt Murdock, could be making an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home or even elsewhere in the MCU, he may not be the only character doing so. In fact, it appears that Marvel’s very own Kingpin could be returning in the MCU. This has been backed up by several leaked images which suggest that we’ll be seeing Kingpin in the newly released Hawkeye series.
The images indicate that the MCU version of Kingpin would once again be played by actor Vincent D’Onofrio, who so masterfully played the character in Daredevil. This time, however, the character would be made to look even more comic book accurate – thus D’Onofrio would be aided with prosthetics and CGI to bring this new take on the character to life.
As you can see in the images below:

As noted by the Twitter user who posted these images, however, they should be taken “with a grain of salt.” After all, in an era where digital manipulation can be done by anyone with a computer, these could very easily be fake. On the other hand, leaks are something that have been nearly impossible to avoid these days, as is the case with the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. So perhaps this really could be the way Marvel plans to reintroduce Kingpin. And considering that they’re bringing back villains from Sam Raimi’s own Spider-Man trilogy that’s been written out of continuity for over a decade now, it doesn’t seem that far-fetched to bring back characters from Daredevil, either. Of course, only time will tell.
Fans can stream new episodes of Hawkeye on Disney Plus every Wednesday. And with a little luck, we’ll be seeing the return of Vincent D’Onofrio at some point during the show.
