The iconic mask used in the Scream film franchise is undoubtedly one of the most popular masks available. Unfortunately, it looks like a group of robbers decided to take advantage of that. As it turns out, a group of armed robbers wearing Scream masks attacked a hair salon in Seattle, Washington. They used a handgun and demanded money from the salon.
As noted by King 5 News, the cameras managed to catch three of the four robbers on video, including their Scream masks. The station also quoted the salon’s owner, named only as Jenny to protect her last name.
Here’s what she had to say:
“They’re asking me, ‘money, money, money.’ And I said ‘money is over there,’” Jenny explained.
After robbing the store’s cash register, they also took money from some of the customers inside the building. Jenny noted that the event still has her scared.
“When I think about it I’m still, you know, scared right now,” she said.
“I have to work no matter what, right. I have my kids, my four daughters – I have to take care of them.”

As of this writing, police are reportedly still searching for the suspects.
The timing is eerie, considering that a new Scream film is on the horizon. The upcoming horror film is scheduled for a release in just a few months, coming in January.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed Scream, taking over for the late Wes Craven who directed the original four films. James Vanderbilt wrote the script with Guy Busick. Original Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson is executive producing alongside Chad Villella. Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak are serving as producers on the film.
The cast for Scream includes returning cast members David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Marley Shelton, and Roger L. Jackson. The new cast members include Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Dylan Minnette, Mikey Madison, Sonia Ben Ammar and Kyle Gallner.
Scream is currently scheduled to hit theaters on January 14, 2022.
