The Jeepers Creepers franchise is set to make a comeback next year, with the upcoming sequel Jeepers Creepers: Reborn set to pave the way. The new horror film will reinvent both the franchise and its iconic villain, while presumably keeping continuity with the original films. This is exciting news for fans who’ve always enjoyed the terrifying villain behind the brand. Now fans can see the first teaser trailer for Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, which gives a few exciting glimpses at what’s to come.
While the footage doesn’t reveal much about the film, it does show that the tone will apparently be quite dark. And after Jeepers Creepers 3, which didn’t seem to do well with any fans whatsoever, that should be a good sign. Especially if this new film will begin a new trilogy of movies.
Here’s the official Jeepers Creepers: Reborn teaser trailer:
What’s more, a brand new poster was revealed for Jeepers Creepers: Reborn. It definitely has some classic horror vibes while also appearing quite modern. With a baby carriage front and center, it’ll be interesting to see what its place in the new film will be. It’s certainly reminiscent of the horror classic Rosemary’s Baby or later fare such as A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.
Hopefully we’ll have more information on the film soon. But with the poster confirmed that the new movie is “coming next year,” there should certainly be more information released soon. And hopefully that means a longer trailer or two will also be on the way.
As for the plot of this new entry…
“Chase and Laine head to the Horror Hound festival where Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with The Creeper and the town’s past. As the festival gets underway and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned for the first time in 23 years and that she is at the center of it.”
Timo Vuorensola directed the horrifying upcoming film from a script written by Sean-Michael Argo.
The cast for Jeepers Creepers: Reborn includes Sydney Craven, Imran Adams, Ocean Navarro, Matt Barkley, Alexander Halsall, Jodie McMullen, Georgia Goodman, and Jarreau Benjamin.
The film is currently scheduled for a 2022 release date. More details as we hear it.
