The Venom: Let There Be Carnage post-credits scene is arguably the biggest scene in all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. And I say MCU because that scene brought Eddie Brock/Venom from his universe into the main MCU, meaning that a collision between the symbiote and Spider-Man is all but inevitable. Now, the head of Marvel Entertainment and the godfather of the MCU, Kevin Feige, has weighed in on the subject of this huge crossover.
In an interview from THR, Feige gave his take on the Venom 2 scene and teases that this collaboration is even bigger than we know.
Per Feige:
“There was a lot of coordination — and if you don’t know all the coordination yet, I’m not going to be the one to tell you — but yes, between Sony and Marvel and the Venom team and the No Way Home team… We worked together on it.”
Top that signature vague response with some of the other clues, like Tom Hardy wearing a Spider-Man: No Way Home set hat in an interview, and it would seem very likely that Venom will be making an appearance in the third solo Spidey flick in the Sony/Marvel deal coming this December.
After the first trailer came out, and fans were able to pick out five villains from the multiple Wall Crawler franchises, many were lead to believe we might be getting a Sinister Six of sorts. But, we were one villain short. Now, with Venom seemingly wanting to ‘eat’ Spidey, he could very well be that final piece.
Kevin Feige is the master at talking around an answer without actually giving anything away, but this ‘coordination’ talk, especially including the Spider-Man: No Way Home team, does lead one to believe we’ll see this interaction we’ve all been wanting ever since the first Venom film was even announced. And, considering the relationship between the symbiote and Brock, and the superhuman that is Peter Parker, we could get a unique take on Venom’s origin and maybe some play on a black suit Spider-Man. Fingers crossed!
