Although The Mandalorian won’t be returning for its third season this year, fans still have plenty to look forward to. In fact, The Book of Boba Fett will be arriving this December! The upcoming spin-off which will further explore the iconic character Boba Fett was previously announced during the second season finale of The Mandalorian. While it was stated that the series would arrive in December, it was unknown at what specific day. Now an official poster for The Book of Boba Fett has given us the specific day we can expect the premiere.
As you can see in the poster below from the official Star Wars website, The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney Plus on December 29.
This is exciting news. Hopefully with the series Star Wars: Visions now on Disney Plus and The Book of Boba Fett next on the way, we can start to expect more promotion in the near future. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for news on The Book of Boba Fett as we have it. As for this moment, not much else is known about the upcoming series – but it will follow up from the after credits scene in The Mandalorian where Boba Fett kills Bib Fortuna and takes over Jabba’s Palace.
The upcoming series “finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.”
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson are attached to the Disney Plus series as executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are attached as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki as producer and John Hampian as co-producer.
Temuera Morrison is returning as Boba Fett, while Ming-Na Wen will return to portray Fennec Shand.
