Although James Wan’s newest movie Malignant was just released to theaters and HBO Max, fans will see the I Know What You Did Last Summer series he produced come next. In fact, the first teaser for the I Know What You Did Last Summer teaser has just been released by Amazon. Fans will be able to view the series via streaming on Prime Video.
As you can see from the teaser trailer down below, the I Know What You Did Last Summer series seems to be something both new yet familiar for fans of the original book and film adaptation. At a time when slasher films and shows seem to be making a comeback, there’s perhaps no perfect time for an I Know What You Did Last Summer series to hit the small screen. Especially after such a long time since the franchise’s last entry. It’ll be good to see what producer James Wan and the rest of the crew and cast have come up with for the highly anticipated series.
Here’s the plot of the upcoming series…
“One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town—and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.“
The pilot of the series was directed by Craig Macneill. The cast includes Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, Sonya Balmores, and Bill Heck.
The first four episodes of the I Know What You Did Last Summer series will premiere on Amazon’s Prime Video service beginning October 15. After that, the next four episodes will be released weekly on Friday until the finale hits November 12, 2021.
