James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is finally out in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service and it is killing it! (pun totally intended, you’re welcome) Gunn has successfully delivered a fully well-rounded film that is equal parts dark and fun for DC and WB. It is unlike anything from the juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it moves away from the tumultuous run of the DCEU splendidly. Not everyone is loving the film, however – or more specifically, are using Gunn’s opus to fuel their trolling ways by review bombing the movie. However, Gunn doesn’t seemed too worried about that.
Gunn was recently added to a tweet about said review bombers where someone pointed out that people, some being of the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse crew, are trying to tank the audience score on IMDb – but the director isn’t deterred in the slightest. His response was short yet poignant. At the end of the day, it won’t effect how his film responds.
I’ll live – stuff like this means nothing in the big picture. (And important to point out most the SnyderCut fans have been supportive, it’s only a few who feel it’s worthwhile spending their time doing stuff like this.)

In this day and age, those audience review numbers mean nothing. Trolls have oversaturated that market to invalidate them altogether. Honestly though, Gunn has dealt with far too many internet issues to even be phased anymore.
There is also another side of this as well. Some of this vitriol comes from those who don’t like Gunn’s political views or how vocal he is against people who try to fan the flames of hatred and racism. James Gunn is never one to shy away from letting these people know exactly what he thinks of them.
It’s just sad to think that people have nothing better to do than hide behind their keyboards and just be downright awful. The Suicide Squad is a fantastic film, but if you don’t like it, then you don’t like it. It is as simple as not watching it again. And if you want to review the film honestly, go for it – but don’t trash the work simply because it doesn’t fit your agenda.
