While The CW has been developing a Lost Boys TV series that would presumably be set in a new continuity, actor Corey Feldman has teased a potential return to the original story. Specifically, Corey Feldman has revealed that fellow Lost Boys actor Jamison Newlander is eagerly trying to develop a Frog Brothers TV show. As fans of the Lost Boys franchise know, the Frog Brothers eventually became the focus by the time Lost Boys: The Thirst was released. While no further films were developed, there’s certainly room to see their story told on the small screen.
As revealed via MovieWeb, Corey Feldman had this to say about the potential for a Frog Brothers TV show:
“We’ll see, right? Everything’s up in the air, man. I recently talked about the fact that Jamison had an idea for a Frog Brothers show, and all of a sudden, networks start calling us going, ‘Hey, we hear there’s a Frog Brothers show.’ So, you never know what can happen. All I’m saying is, as of right now, I’ve got no solid plans to do any of it.”
He further emphasized that, although Jamison Newlander is busy pitching the concept for the Lost Boys spin-off, Corey Feldman is merely happy to sit aside and merely star if the opportunity arises.
“I mean, I would watch it. I think it would be great fun, but that’s because Jamison and I always crack each other up and we have a good time together, so it’s fun for me. I love working with Jamison. I love doing Frog Brothers. It’s always a good time. All I’m saying is, could one of these revival projects happen? Sure. But there is probably no chance of me going and trying to, you know, beat the pavement and work to get somebody to hire me as an actor. I’m not willing to do the rounds anymore.”
While nothing official is in the works, this does show that there’s interest in the concept. Perhaps HBO Max would be the perfect place to bring the Frog Brothers back for another round of awesome monster bashing.
