While we wait for more details regarding the upcoming MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home, some exciting information has been revealed via Hot Toys. As revealed with an upcoming new Spider-Man figures for Hot Toys, it appears that the new suit worn by Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home will actually contain some type of Doctor Strange styled powers. While somewhat surprising (aside from a similar leak from Funko,) it does also make sense. Specifically because Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange character is indeed confirmed to be something of a mentor for Peter Parker in the upcoming film. He’ll be taking over the role that Tony Stark previously played in Spider-Man’s life.
As you can see below, via Hot Toys, the new Spider-Man suit has been called the “Black & Gold” suit by the company. What’s more, the Spider-Man figure appears to be using webs that are clearly reminiscent of the powers often used by Doctor Strange. Despite being a figure, this is only one of our first real glimpses at the MCU film which is scheduled to be released this coming December. Of course, we also know that there are apparently going to be some familiar faces involved with the new film – some that will apparently tie into a greater multiverse. So, once again, Spider-Man becoming dependent on magic is definitely something that makes sense.
Of course, we’ll just have to wait to see where Spider-Man: No Way Home goes from here. There are plenty of possibilities for the upcoming film, especially with the multiverse concepts at play. But if this figure is anything to go by, No Way Home is sure to be a massive addition to the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
