The next theatrical installment in the long running Saw franchise is on the way, titled Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Fans have been eager for a new installment to come along since Jigsaw was released several years ago, and now Lionsgate has released a brand new clip from the film. This particular scene is actually the opening for Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and while the format of the movie might be a little different than past entries, it’s still most definitely part of the Saw franchise.
As you can see down below, the opening for Spiral: From the Book of Saw includes a Jigsaw copycat in a pig mask and a horrific torture device that he uses against a kidnapped detective. It’s an intense scene and one which points out just how grisly this new film will be. Let’s just hope the rest of this movie will live up to the expectations set by this scene and the previous films of the series.
In the new film…
“A criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.”
The film’s cast includes Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson. It was produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules. Darren Lynn Bousman directed the movie from a script written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger.
Fans will be able to finally experience Spiral: From the Book of Saw, the latest installment in the iconic Saw horror film franchise, in theaters on May 14, 2021.
