Actress Amber Heard is once again making headlines, this time as she undergoes training to prepare for her role in the upcoming DC film Aquaman 2. She’s attached to once again portray Mera, the character she played in both the first Aquaman film and more recently in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. While some individuals would no doubt like to see Amber Heard fired from the film, she’s clearly moving forward with her role.
As you can see below on Instagram, where the divisive actress shared the training image, Amber Heard wrote the following caption:
“Alexa, play “Pussy Talk” by City Girls 👯♀️💪🏻 #workoutsongs #aquaman2”

There have been conflicting reports lately regarding whether or not Amber Heard would actually be involved at all with Aquaman 2. And, even still, other reports suggesting that the actress was fighting with executives to receive more screen time in the project. Whatever the case may be, it looks like Amber Heard is still training to look the best she can for the part. Obviously those who’ve been wanting to see her removed, and those who have signed petitions for such a purpose, will be displeased. But those hopeful to see Amber Heard once again reprise her role as Mera will more than likely be happy to see that as of this writing – she apparently is. Of course, we’ll just have to wait and see how that will overall impact the film and/or Amber Heard’s future. Especially since her next legal battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp is due in 2022.
James Wan will once again be directing the film, and Jason Momoa will return as Arthur Curry aka the titular Aquaman. The project is currently scheduled to shoot this summer, so we’ll probably be seeing more updates in the coming months.
The upcoming DC film Aquaman 2 is currently scheduled for a December 16, 2022 release date. Be sure to stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further details and any other updates on the film.
