With the hit Disney Plus series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier reaching its conclusion, many fans have been openly discussing the show. One such aspect is the possibility that there could actually be a shape-shifting Skrull posing as one of the major characters in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. In particular, they believe the Skrull identity may belong to the character Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp). Specifically, because of how the mid-credits scene for the sixth The Falcon and The Winter Soldier episode was handled.
While being offered a full pardon along with a job at her old CIA division, she calls someone on the phone and orders them to “start lining up our buyers.”
“Super Soldiers might be off the menu,” she continues, “but we’re about to have full access to government secrets, prototype weapons, you name it. Should be something for everyone.”
With this scene in mind, however, it’s unclear exactly who Sharon Carter could have been talking to. The possibilities for what character could have been on the other end of the phone are virtually endless. But it most certainly is the perfect set up for another Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline. And because both Spider-Man: Far From Home and WandaVision featured Skrulls, fans believe that Sharon was likely a Skrull at the end of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as well. This would especially make sense with the recent confirmation that Disney and Marvel are moving full steam ahead with a Secret Invasion series. After all, the whole point of Secret Invasion is that Earth has been infiltrated just about everywhere by Skrulls.
Here’s what fans are saying about the possible Skrull reveal:

That was the one aspect of the show I didn’t like. Now, if it’s later revealed that she’s a Skrull and the real Sharon is somewhere else… that might change my opinion of it.

My take is Sharon is a Skrull. She's in a similar position that Jess was when Veranke posed as her in the comics.

I really hope that the Sharon we saw is a skrull, because this seems so against her character. And being a skrull could mean the real Sharon is currently working with Fury. Could explain why he didn’t try to get her pardoned either.— Alaina (@whenin_westview) April 23, 2021
I have this feeling that Sharon is a Skrull. Government secrets, prototype weapons, etc… the Skrulls would love that #TheFalconAndTheWinterSoldier

I think Sharon might be a skrull. Experimenting on humans, hiding her wound and refusing medical treatment is weird, that ominous villain phone call in the post-credits… pic.twitter.com/KVPNk0oTq8— Rafael (@WarbirdRafael) April 23, 2021

Fun thought.
If Sharon is the Power Broker, is it also possible that she is Spider-Woman’s(comic)/Mockingbird’s(animated) replacement in #SecretInvasion and has been replaced by Skrull Queen Veranke? pic.twitter.com/HkiaqOIBxq— Michael Cole @jmichaelcole.bsky.social (@TheJMCole) April 23, 2021
Obviously Disney and Marvel are having a lot of fun teasing fans and intricately linking both movies and shows together at this point. While The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is likely the starting point for the recently announced Captain America 4, we can also assume that it will lead the way for Secret Invasion as well.
