Out of the many Batman film adaptations that exist today, Christian Bale is still often remembered as one of the best actors to step in as the caped crusader. While The Dark Knight Rises seemed to conclude Christian Bale’s career as Batman, it looks like that might not be the case. In fact, according to a new report, it looks like Christian Bale is potentially in talks to return as Batman for another big screen outing.
As revealed via Giant Freakin Robot, it seems that Christian Bale would specifically return as Batman for the upcoming adaptation of The Flash. However, they weren’t able to specify in what capacity. It could be that he’d replace Michael Keaton who was previously in talks for the role, or that both Keaton and Bale could appear in the film.
Although GFR had this to say:
“…either Michael Keaton is coming back as Batman or Christian Bale is. Both of these actors would likely be in a very powerful negotiation position when it comes to their salary for the film. And it would likely come down to a matter of how much each actor is asking and just how much screen time they would have to commit to the project.”
While it’s possible both stars will appear in The Flash as two different variations of Batman, they seem confident that overall only one actor will make the cut. Since both actors are apparently in the negotiation stage, it’s unclear which one will ultimately get to be in the film. But since all of this is being discussed, there’s no idea what will happen in the finalized version of the movie. So, as always, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens and remember to take everything like this with a grain of salt. But it definitely seems like Christian Bale fans at least have a chance of seeing the Dark Knight actor once again play Batman.
The Flash is currently scheduled for a November 4, 2022 release date.
