Be warned, there are spoilers for the Disney Plus series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier ahead. Now then. While the identity of the villain Power Broker has yet to be revealed, one eagle-eyed The Falcon and The Winter Soldier fan might’ve already solved the mystery. Interestingly, it has to do with Apple’s iPhone rule that filmmaker Rian Johnson previously revealed. Apparently this eagle-eyed fan noticed that one particular character in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier didn’t have an iPhone like the rest of the characters.
As pointed out last year while speaking with Vanity Fair, this is what Rian Johnson had to say:
“Apple, they let you use iPhones in movies, but, and this is very pivotal, if you’re ever watching a mystery movie, bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera. Every single filmmaker who has a bad guy in their movie that’s supposed to be a secret wants to murder me right now.”
Indeed, it seems Rian Johnson might’ve ruined one of Disney’s biggest upcoming secrets for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. As pointed out by TikTok user 3noracha, episode 3 of the series reintroduces the character Sharon Carter played by Emily VanCamp. Here’s what he had to say about her inclusion:
“While watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier I saw that Sam was using an Apple, and Torres was using an Apple. So they’re good. I haven’t seen Bucky use a phone yet, so we don’t know. But then, today, while rewatching episode 3, I saw this…”
As pointed out by the TikTok user in their video, Emily VanCamp’s character in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier does not use an iPhone. While this isn’t a specific guarantee that Emily VanCamp’s character Sharon Carter will end up being the Power Broker, it would certainly make sense. Especially considering some of the events she’s gone through since Captain America: Civil War. Whether that’s true or not, however, will remain to be seen. We’ll just have to wait as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier continues its run.
