A variety of allegations have been made again filmmaker Joss Whedon ever since actor Ray Fisher came forward. Ray Fisher alleged that Joss Whedon was abusive among other things on the set of Justice League. Since then, several other reports have become known, and even an investigation was launched by Warner Bros. While Joss Whedon has yet to have commented on the situation, a new report brings actress Gal Gadot into the mix.
Gal Gadot, known for playing Wonder Woman in the ever-expanding DCEU, apparently didn’t get along with Joss Whedon. It seems she had certain issues with his creative direction, and Whedon responded by threatening her career. It then goes a step further, with one witness stating that Joss Whedon actually bragged about giving her bad lines. As reported via THR:
“The biggest clash, sources say, came when Whedon pushed Gadot to record lines she didn’t like, threatened to harm Gadot’s career and disparaged Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. A witness on the production who later spoke to investigators says that after one clash, ‘Joss was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal. He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.’”
While this should be taken with a grain of salt, as it has yet to be officially confirmed, this report does line up with what many other individuals have stated about Whedon. Of course, as stated above, Joss Whedon has yet to comment on the situation. But for the time being, things aren’t looking so good for the filmmaker that got his start with projects like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And some of these issues apparently go that far back as well – with many Buffy cast members saying they had issues with Whedon in the past.
At the very least, fans can distance themselves from Joss Whedon’s Justice League, and appreciate that Warner Bros gave the greenlight to have Zack Snyder recut the massive superhero film.
