Avengers: Endgame was a massive success for Marvel and changed the path of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. But what’s really interesting is what a new study has to say about the popular Marvel movie. According to the study, Avengers: Endgame is actually considered the best superhero movie of all time. Interestingly, the second movie on the list is none other than Joker – and both films were released in 2019. The study used varied types of data, including box office results and critical approval to determine the best superhero movies.
More specifically, a total of 100 superhero movies were analyzed for the study, via OnlineCasinos.Co. The factors included IMDB audience ratings, Metacritic critical ratings, and box office results such as the worldwide box office (adjusted for inflation) as well as annual search volume. And, indeed, based on these variables – Avengers: Endgame managed to reach the top of the list. As such, fans can now consider the best superhero film of all time to be none other than Avengers: Endgame. At least if you go by the standards defined by this new study.
1. Avengers: Endgame
2. Joker
3. Black Panther
4. Avengers: Infinity War
5. The Dark Knight
6. The Dark Knight Rises
7. The Avengers
8. The Incredibles
9. Incredibles 2
10. Wonder Woman
As for the exact score that Avengers: Endgame received during the study, it actually finished with a 78.67. The lowest on the list was Troma’s The Toxic Avenger, a cult classic exploitation take on the superhero concept. And it finished with a 33.24 score. So that really gives you an idea of how varied these scores are and just how well Avengers: Endgame had to do to reach the top. Meanwhile, as stated above, the movie Joker managed to reach the second spot on the list. It finished with a score of 75.94. Which, when you look at the numbers, is actually very close to beating Avengers: Endgame.
The study also took the time to examine comic book publishers as well. This included Marvel, which finished at the top with a 74.65 score. DC Comics managed to reach a 73.45 score, so it was just barely behind Marvel. Meanwhile, Caliber Comics was third, with a very far off score of 58.47. It just goes to show how high in the game Marvel and DC are, even when it comes to both movies and comics.
No doubt, fans will have plenty of evidence now to continue some of the comic book community’s biggest arguments. More specifically, Marvel VS DC. And, at the moment, it looks like Marvel is just barely winning – according to the results of this study, anyway.
